This years event will be taking place in Kerrvile with us making the "Three Sisters run" on Saturday. The event will include a group dinner on Friday night, making the Three Sisters run on Saturday and then another dinner Saturday night along with raffling off prizes and then say good-bye's and check out Sunday. Shirt Info:
The shirts for the 2011 Texas 8 have been completed and are now available for purchase. You have the option of either a lighter or heavier weight shirt (the heavier weight has additional shirt color choices). Additionally, the shirt graphics have been set up specifically for light shirts or dark shirts, as you will be able to pick any available color shirt this year.

The lightweight shirts are $16 and the heavyweight shirts are $20, plus shipping & handling.

You can buy the shirts here.

We highly recommend grouping up your purchases if possible to spread out the shipping costs.

There will not be any shirts available for purchase at the event, so if you want one for the trip, you'll need to purchase it in advance.

Just to let you know, there are no more courtyard queen queen or courtyard king rooms left. They do still have courtyard upstairs cabanas for the group rate though. I will have an open bed, so if anyone wants to half the price with me, I am cool with it.

Cool hope to see you there! We are going to try and have a "pre-state meet cruise" for the DFW folks so hopefully you can get to know us a bit better as well. If you do end up coming the DFW crew heads out in mass together Friday morning. There will be a thread in the gulf section as we get closer to the meet.

 

Added the Itenerary to the OP. Big note for everyone. Everything on Friday has been moved up an hour, this means we will be eating supper at 7 instead of 8 so plan accordingly!

Thinking bout going, it would be my first rx8 meet since I've had my car, just got to see how school is go by then. Im going to sound like a noob, I read what all the plans are, but what all happens while were down there?

 

Friday:
Folks drive into town, check into the hotel, kick back, relax and socialize with other 8 owners as they roll into town, then go out to dinner

Saturday:
Mainly driving most of the day. Breaks for lunch and ice cream (the real reason for the trip). We'll get back into town late afternoon, typically time to wind down a little, then meet up for dinner / raffle / socialize. Typically, we'll have after dinner parties that will go late into the night.

Sunday:
Wrap up, final socializing, check-out, drive home.

 

Sounds like fun, who doesnt love to drive n look at the 8. I'd probably have to come up Saturday mourning though, either be there 2 am or 9 am, but I'm deffinently gonna try and fit this in the school schedule, hope 2 c everyone there.

 

I'd recommend getting in late Friday night versus Saturday morning just because there's going to be a lot of driving and you'll need to have your senses fully available to you. I know there are some folks looking for someone to split a room with, so you might pair up with someone if you want to lower the cost of the room.

 

I'm going to have probably have to take Friday off work then, kind of excited for this meet

 

A good number of us will be doing the same. You may check and see if any Houston folks are going to group up and head over together. From DFW, several of us will caravan down (including folks from Oklahoma). It definitely makes the drive go faster.

 

Hey guys, me and the wife are thinking about coming down to DFW Thursday night before the meet and then heading out with the Dallas crew Friday morning to the hotel. Would anyone in the Dallas area happen to have a place for me and the wife to crash for Thursday night and then follow them to where everyone in Dallas is meeting to head out Friday morning? We are clean responsible people. She is 28 and I am 29, I am exmilitary and respectful. If someone could let us sleep there, we would appreciate it. We have our hotel booked already for the Texas8 and if I need to I will get one Thursday night in the Dallas area. Thanks

 

Yes, I'm currently hosting two others but should have enough room for you as well. If things change I will try to track down another DFW member with room so you don't have to get two hotels for the weekend.

I have a 3 bedroom house in Ft Worth. Renesisjim and a buddy of his are staying as well as another member from our area. I have a King in the master, a queen in the guest, and a twin in the babies room. I've asked my wife to find other sleeping arrangements for the night as well as the baby so everyone should be comfy. You are more than welcome to sleep on the king with your wife while Jim and his buddy use the queen, and I get the twin. I have a futon mattress the DFW member can use as well as an air mattress for anyone else that wants to stay as well. PM me for further details such as time and address etc.
