Yes, thats right, a trailer hitch for a series II. Also comes with a wiring harness.
I used it to tow a small trailer with a shifter Kart. Good for 500 lbs, 200 tounge weight.

Not yet. It's a 48"x 48" harbor freight trailer with a deck on it. Pulls it effortlessly. Can't even tell it's there. Looks like you have a series one, so it won't fit your car.

Never took pics and I don't have the car any more. Not much to see any way. Just a small hitch sticking out under the bumper. Worked really well tho. No problems towing at all.

What brand is the hitch or was it homemade?
I've searched the net and all hitch companies provide hitches up through 2008 RX8s and none for 2009 due to rear end body panel and exhaust tip location changes.

My car is a 2009 RX8/R3.

Hitch is still available. The brand is Curt and it was made for an 09 and up.

 

Fit my 09 perfect.

 

Shame nobody has picked this up yet. Trailerette sure makes jackassing tires and gear to the track or autocross much easier than ruining the interior. Free bump.
