With all the reliability issues I've had with the 8 I can't agree with it being one of the best cars of the decade.

I don't know how they can justify putting the Prius on there.. Between all of Toyota's issues with the sticking pedals...

The writer must be gay.

key word. There are quite a few people without any major issues. Sometimes you gotta face it, every model car has it's bad apples.

Nice find. Some of the cars picked are pretty laughable, but a good read none the less.

30 months! What's that like 50,000 miles? wait till you get to around the 4-5 year mark.

For sure! Of all the cars they could have picked... As a fuel efficient car, it's not very good at what it does. They don't get much better gas mileage than cars from the late 80's / early 90's. If you look at the total carbon footprint of a Prius, they are worse than a Hummer!

The batteries have to be shipped around the world a couple of times just in production. The only thing they really have going for them is their low coefficient of drag. There are a couple cool technologies they have (off throttle engine shutdown is one that I like), but are overall lame.

Can't stand the damn things! My friend was talking about them last night, and I got all fired up. Blarg.

Atleast they put the Tesla above the Prius... Although it probably should have also been above most of the rest of those cars too ha. Those things are sick.

4-5 years! What's that, like finishing with the car payments? wait til you get to the 7-8 year mark.

Maybe a less offensive term might be more appropriate here?

Crazy? Uninformed? Delusional?

If the US wasn't the anti-diesel capital of the freaking world, we'd have been driving 60-80MPG compact cars long before "hybrid" became the fad that it is now... but between the EPA sucking California's dick and people unwilling to let the 80's go, diesel never had a chance.

I'm at the 8 year mark as I bought my car in 03 so I'm talking from experience. When I mentioned 4-5 year mark I was referring to when everything started needing to be replaced.

If anyone took an offense from that, that was not my intention. I am just a sarcastic person that makes jokes at everything.

I agree with about half the choices. The RX-8 is arguably the most practical sports car ever made. Any other non-rotary car would have to be mid-engined to match the handling and that pretty much takes care of any useable rear seat. The Prius was the first hybrid to be a success in the market. The Mini established the modern pocket rocket market. To be a top car, it should be groundbreaking or totally unique or both, IMHO

very nice find, and I do have to say I have and 04 gt mt, and I did lose power with a check engine light twice in one month, took it in to Milan Mazda, and they told me I need it a new engine, but its still OK to drive one week later they call me to get my car to put the new engine on, drop it off on Monday and on late Tuesday, or be Wednesday, I got my car back, and so for so good And its 2011 now with only one mayor engine problem!!!
15 to 20 years ago you had piston engine blowing up head gasket right and left if not breaking drive belts , valves and rod.

the rotary engine is very reliever engine, with less moving part to break, but like every thing you do, you have to take care off it and maintain it!!!

if you do this it will take care of you too, especially by putting a grind in you face as you hit 9000rpm in firth, second and third gear in an autocross, solo Cross and every now an den on a nice open road!!!
