Just picked up my 2009 black R3!!!!

Hello all, loving the car, i was not perpared for the amount of excitement I got from driving it home last night! I have a question about the bluetooth system in the car. Can it stream music from my IPhone 4 if so how do I activate it? Thanks

It doesn't stream by bluetooth? That sucks. I've was under the impression it does.
I was looking to try to add it in.

If the 2010 model can, would it just be a software update that would allow it?

AFAIK the radio only has hands free support for the phone. The protocol used to transfer stereo through bluetooth is AD2P which i dont believe any model of the RX8 has.

Well I just went through the 2010 & 2011 owners manual on Mazda's website and couldn't find anything about bluetooth audio streaming. Oh well. No need for me to try to add it to my Touring. Sorry for hijacking your thread about it, wish I had more responses on mine! LOL!

Congrats on the purchase!

A2DP is actually a protocol layer on top of the BT2.0 hardware. Technically any BT2.0 device can support A2DP, as long as the protocol is implemented in the controller. I assume that for support reasons Mazda didn't want to go into it, and they would probably have to pay some royalties to the SIG for Bluetooth for using the protocol.

LOL. I don't even have the factory bluetooth. I was just inquiring about whether to try to add it in! Doesn't seem like I need to try.

I found the car on Kijji the car was priced right, low km, it came with a set of new winter tires and rims, and I got the guy to drop the price $1500.00.

Sorry I haven't posted any pictures yet but this weekend my faithful friend our family boxer who was 12 took a turn for the worse and we had to put him down. I wish I had just one more day with him to let him know what a true gift he was to us. His name was Pashaw.
