I am moving to Baltimore, MD in a few weeks and i plan to buy a used 05 Rx-8 while i'm there. I would like to know if anyone who live in an area that snow alot drives a rx8. Everyone told me that driving in the snow sucks, and that i should buy at least a FWD. But i always loved the RX8 so it is my first choice unless it is more practical to buy like an SUV. I'll be honest, I dont like to drive anything with too much hassle that take aways the joy of driving. For example all my friends lower their cars and they have to weave around everything so not to scratch, i just drive over bumps with my van. Is there anything i should know about driving a rx-8 in the snow? I heard the engine flood often, is it true? thank you for your advice and time.

 

If you plan on driving the rx8 in the snow you will need snow tires. The engine will not flood if you let the car warm up before shutting it off.

 

depending on what tires you have and how deep the snow you going to drive on.
trucks with summer tires could get stuck easily.

 

get a nice set of winter tires and youll be fine. Also driving the 8 in snow is fun.
