Hey guys, I'm having some engine troubles, and it's sounding like it might be compression related. The nearest mazda dealer is a good hour and a half away and I don't really think the car's in good enough shape to make that long of a trip.

If anyone has a rotary compression tester, I would love to rent it for a few days. If you were a regular user on this board with plenty of reputation and feedback I would be completely comfortable paying a deposit on the tester + what you thought was worth it for me to use it.

I have one if you really can't find one closer to home, but it's probably not worth it for you to do that considering the cost of the unit and shipping to and from since I'm in Canada. Might be some border fees as well.

If you're really stuck and have no alternative then message me, but you'll be better off finding someone semi-local.

 

I'm in Vegas and have one but just the shipping and insurance are as much as a dealer test.......I've loaned it out before and always have had the best of luck getting it back on time and in good shape. Try and find someone closer if you can.

all compression testers are not created equal, not even dedicated rotary testers

 

Not only are they not all equal, you must be sure your battery is up to par, the starter motor is working as designed and be able to read the instructions for it's use. I don't believe the AutoZone rental is one you want to use.
