When installing as new head unit (with metra kit), where is a good place to attach the ground? I look inside the "cavity" in the dash and all I see is screws in plastic.

Is there a good ground point readily available or do I need to run a wire somewhere?

Sorry if this is covered elsewhere but you can imagine how many hits there are when searching for "ground" and "head unit".

it's a good idea to ground a head unit where your external amplifier is grounded.

 

I have no external amp.

Look for chassis metal.
Usually where dash structure attaches to the firewall or floor pan

 

Yeah, that's what I'm looking for, I was hoping there was a convenient place people have been using.
