Stumbled upon amazing little restoration/wear reducer (not back to black)

The little miracle pad I stumbled on:
So I had a little bit of hazing on my headlights (also have some fading black pieces on the body and non paint penetrating scuffs) so I figured I d fix em.

For those of us who have fading black trim, and have tried Mothers Back to Black, know that it hardly works at all(at least not for much more than a few days.

As I used the headlight restoration kit, I realized that the final step that involved making the freshly sanded lenses clear again used a small wet pad. This pad was soaked in a liquid that makes microscopically rough surfaces smooth again... a glorified clear gloss... I wondered if.... Sure enough

Anyone who's gotten tire wet on the car knows that its a pain to get off, even though it works great as "back to black"

For some reason, this little pad in the headlight resto kit is easy to wipe off. And because it is basically a glorified clear gloss, you can wipe it directly on the black trims and use a dry rag to wipe any extra off the body for back to new black plastics.

But even better- You can actually use this little pad on scuffs, scratches and general wear(like around the door handles).

I used it on some scratches and It made them about half as bad. Just wipe on wipe off.
Just figure Id share this nifty little bit of info. Hope it helps. Good luck!

I looked for them online but I cant seem to find anything, Its the sealing pad in the turtle wax headlight restoration kit. I wonder if Turtle would consider selling them seperatly.

so now that its been in the sun for a while, the scratches are still visible, just not as bad.
But the black plastic trims are still looking like new (vs mothers back to black being back to normal within a few hours aka usless)
