Car Wont start up..need help

hey all ..i frist want to say that i myself dont know anything about cars what so ever... but i thought i woudl as you guys frist before i decide to bring my car to the dealer ship or my local shop because the warrenty just ran out on my car like 3 months ago

i have a 2004 mazda rx8..... it has like 44k miles on it

so far only things that need to be fixed in the past so far was

Had to replace battery and starter......

and had to change out oil coolent lines cause the rotted away.

.... now for my problem at hand

i drove my car last on saturday ... and the yellow light turned on for gas.. but i did not fill it cause i was almost home ...so i was going to go out to the gym today and woudl fill up on my way there( oh and it didi snow last night so i got really cold so i dont know if that coudl have anything to do with it like a frozen gas line or something)..... so tried to turn my car on and the lights turned on so i know the battery is not dead.... it sounds liek the car is trying to start up but it wont turn over..and a couple times i could feel the car jump/bounce like it was almost able to start but then i could not.......

Probably not flooded. It's probably out of gas. If you ere on E and it got below freezing you stand a chance of moisture in your gas freezing. Go get a few gallons of gas in a can and dump it in.

my guess is that its out of gas. Mine did the exact same thing the other day. I thought I had a few more miles, so I just parked it in the garage. Next day I go to start it, and got the exact same problem. Went down to the gas station with a 3 gallon tank, took it home and put it in and what do you know. It started right up! lol

hey i just had my car checked out by my local guy and he told me that the compression is only at 60psi.... and said the engine is poped... now would that be covered under the 8 year engine warranty ?

and if it is woudl that mean mazda woudl pay to get my car towed to the dealer ship?

Mine was doing EXACTLY the same things you describe in the original post... it was flooded. I just fixed it about an hour ago. First time it happens in almost two years of owning the car.

well how can i tell it is flooded.... cause i tried what the book said ..and did nothing.... pluse there is no oily exhaust comming out of my car..... and my local guy said that he check the spark plugs adn they looked fine...so i figure that if it was flooded they woudl not be be workign right cause of being wet?

and my car does not even seem liek it is starting to turn over... if you check the video i posted u will hear what i mean...

Well I wasn't sure mine was flooded either but I read here on the board and the symptoms were the same. I checked the video and my car was doing exactly that this morning. I tried what the manual says too but it didn't do anything. This is what ended up fixing it at the end... http://www.rx8web.com/forum/showthread.php?p=162360

Now the car is driving fine, but yes, it was exactly the same as your video too.
