Noisy belts? Dielectric grease will fix it!
Hi everyone. I just want to share with y'all my experience today. For the longest time I had been getting these annoying chirping sound thats "cyclical". I diagnosed it to the belts today. They felt dry and I could understand why they are dry because I have done several engine bay power washes in the past. The washes also remove some necessary oils/lubricants on the belts.
I went to Canadian Tire and bought some Permatex Dielectric Tune-up Grease. The small tube is $4.99 and is sufficient.
Dab some onto the inner portion of the main belt. Dab some on the A/C pulley belt. Do this while the engine is off. Start the car, let it idle for 5 minutes to distribute the grease evenly on all pulleys and overall belt and also let your car warm up.
Voila, the noise went away...
Now y'all know what to do when you hear that noise.

You get it at idle. Trust me you will know when you hear it. When you start hearing strange "cyclical" noises coming from the wheel wells, let me know....

Hey look, Leesha wants to get lubed up....

Noisy belts? Tightening them will fix it! Squeaky means slipping. You've just made the belts have less friction between the belt and the pulley. You actually want more friction so you should just tighten them. Also as has been said you should probably go ahead and replace it 20$ and you wont have to worry about it for a while.
