OK! So the Highway Traffic Act states that you cannot have any material which tints or obstucts the intensity and lens of your headlamps.... Thats fine, but what about Eyelids? They don't alter the color of your headlights and don't block the light coming out of your headlamps at all (*at least not the ones I'm looking at*) Any help? Advice? Legal Aid? :P

I'd advise against it. If you add the lids you've just given every cop you pass a reason to pull you over. I ran my Miata for eleven years with a front license plate (illegal where I'm from.) In that time I was only pulled over twice and warned about it, but every time I passed a cop a little worrying voice in my head wondered if he was going to turn on the flashing lights. It's stress you don't need. The finer points of whether the lids are legal are irrelevant if all it takes is one cop having a bad day to pull you over and give you grief.

 

Edit: that's WITHOUT a front license plate, of course.

 

I wouldn't worry about it. They probably wouldn't notice. Remember that they are pretty stupid. Most of them that is.

I'm looking to buy the ones from Jethro Tull, and I'm not overly concerned about cops pulling me over as I tend to follow the law as much as possible :P I was more curious then anything, but I believe I will be doing this regardless and if I end up getting multiple tickets from it THEN I'll take em off ^_^

I live in ON too, and have installed eye lids on my 8 (pics are coming night) I'm not worried about it in the least. If you get pulled over for it just be nice and claim ignorance and you'll be fine. Shouldn't get anything worse than a warning, and if you do then take em off. Most cops won't even know if it's legal or not anyway, and if you install them well enough most won't even notice they are there.

 

Two thumbs down to eye lids ..... don't like them at all.

Not sure if they illegal or not but I would agree with everyone else that they wouldn't notice
