Hey guys, just purchased a slightly used 2009 RX 8 R3 (in black of course). Considered a new 2010, and if they came in black I would have.

Been lurking in these forums for years. Never quite got around to getting an 8 though, hard to find them while stationed in Germany and/or while deployed.

I already have gleaned quite a bit of info, and have a few threads bookmarked for reference, loads of good info and DIYs on this site.

Now that I am offically an owner I figure I may as well start posting from time to time. Figured I would introduce myself and thank you guys for all the info I have picked up to this point.

Won't be doing any modding for a bit, minus putting on some oil cooler screens and a couple of other small items.

Damn glad to be part of the eight community now.

Good stuff. More 8 owners are always good. Im in Montgomery AL serving in the AF, if you ever head to northern FL or ATL for any kind of meets hit me up, i need to go to more car events. There is a cars and coffee event in tallahasee every 3rd saturday or something like that that i intend on attending at some point.

 

Pics will be difficult at this point. The car is somewhere between Maryland and SC, and I am still in Afghanistan. Will ask my dad to take some pics when it arrives at his place. I could post the pics of the car I saved from the listing, but it would harldy be conclusive evidence on a forum like this. Will arrive home in a month and some change, will definitely post some pics then. It is however a beautiful stock black R3. My avatar is my picture of my current ride. Little heavier and less comfortable than my new 8, but it does have two engines with 1600shp apiece.

Thanks for the welcome, and while driving to Tallahasse won't be a regular thing for me, I am sure I will make it now and again. I won't need to have my arm twisted to have an excuse to drive the 8, and I have spent some time in Tallahassee years ago, was a fun place then.
