Hey, guys. I drive a Crystal White Pearl and over the months I've been noticing these little black spots all over my car. They're extremely small; most are around 1mm in diameter, though there are some slightly larger ones. On top of them being very small, they're even harder to see/find in direct sunlight, however, none of them are going away and only more and more of them are showing up, and I'm starting to get annoyed.

I know that they can be removed. You can't feel anything if you were to slide your finger or nail over these black dots. It's just a blemish in the paint, but I can't figure out how to get it out. I've tried using Megiuar's Ultimate Compound on them, and it doesn't work, which is hilariously annoying because this same compound has helped me get rid of other nasty paint blemishes that were larger and more threatening than these dumb dots.

I don't know how to claybar, and I've never waxed a car before. I need to learn how to do both of those, yes, I know, but before I can start practicing I at least have to remove basic blemishes such as these. Why are they such a pain to get rid of?!

I tried taking picture, but I can't get the dots to show up in photo. I'll try taking some more later on, but hopefully there's somebody that knows what I'm talking about.

claybaring gets rid of that stuff...super easy but requires elbow grease.

 

I used to get that kind of stuff when I worked at the Ford Casting plant here in Windsor.
It's fallout dude, just shows how clear/polluted the air is. have you tried a carnuba cleaner/wax? This used to work for me when it wasn't too bad.claybar will do it, just takes more effort.

 

some water spot remover or quick detailing fluid with a clean micro fiber cloth should remove those too...

 

I have a WWP and my rear bumper yellows horribly after some hard driving because of my exhaust. Meguiars cleaning wax works amazing at taking it all away. Go to any car parts store and pick up a bottle of that along with an applicator pad. Use a little elbow grease and rub it on, then use a micro fiber towel to wipe it off after it dries.

 

I have these on my rear bumper. After claying, a lot went away but some are still there.

 

Next time don't buy white.

If you can't see it no need to clean it.

 

But... it's the best color...

I asked some guy at Advanced Auto Parts about it. I took him out to my car and showed the little dots to him, and he had no idea what it was. He said he didn't think it was oxidation, but he might just be dumb.

While I was there I bought some of Meguiar's carnauba wax and am going to try waxing the car some time this week to see if that'll help.

 

My guess is tree sap sticking and picking up anything that will stick to it. Hence the dark color which is basically indeed fallout. Just not in the post apolycps type way.
