I heard some complaints from a guest this morning about problems with the hot tub. she couldn't get to it Saturday night. tried it sunday morning but it was broken. that might cause some problems.

When I went down for breakfast the pool area was closed with a sign that something like this " the pool is closed due to quests breaking furniture in the pool" from what I could see they drained the pool, thats never a good sign

Losing essentially a sponsor of Sevenstock (aka any hotel willing to put up with a large group that has become disruptive) would be a shame. Free booze was a really bad accelerent for this situation. Next year, if you can't go back to the Double Tree, you may have to explain to a new hotel why after X years, you're looking to move where a ton of people stay.

Oh yea whoever did it should be in trouble, pay up and be banned from the event & motel. But if it was just a few then the whole group banned now. In this economy can they afford to ban a large group?

Anything can happen with any group.

You would be dumb to turn down business.

time for security to patrol the area with these hooligans around.

This is absolutely the wrong approach to take. As a member of a car enthusiast group that was banned from a hotel in Myrtle Beach for similar antics, they most certainly can refuse the business. If this is the first incident, who knows what the odds are but never refute the possibility. If you're a "classy" hotel which hosts occasional business seminars - pretty sure there was one there Friday - the black eye of being a "spring break" scene and the associated headaches of having to drain your pool aren't worth it. Maybe they make a few bucks off us but I'm sure they have some semblance of dignity. Also, the antics cost them future business from other customers. The odds of them getting security rather than banning us are pretty much 0.

Ultimately, it's a matter of respect. We should police our own. I didn't stay at the DT and I left well before this all happened, but I feel ashamed for it. Things like this lessen my desire to go to Sevenstock again and/or reinforce any desire to not stay at the main hotel.

I would hope that Hilton would look at all the previous years of no trouble before deciding. I find it hard to believe that any of us would be laughing and joking about this. Someone could have been seriously injured.

Someone chucked a glass cocktail table into the pool which shattered at the bottom. This led to the hotel draining the pool, cordoning off the area and creating a whole CSI scene out of it.
Every year there is some stupid behavior, almost exclusively at the hands of the younger RX-7 crowd. This isn't the first year (previous year's festivities led to lots 'o furniture in the pool, various liquids in the hot tub and burnouts in and on the parking structure). Most of the kids I had the pleasure of talking with pool-side on Friday and Saturday night thought it was hilarious.

I don't know what the DoubleTree's reaction will be, but I doubt the total cost of the clean-up will put much of a dent in the profit for the weekend. I could be wrong.

I do know that the majority of the folks that were reveling up to the 11pm mark when most of us turned-in did a great job of cleaning up afterward, so I don't think there was much "accellerant" available. There was a major resurgence of noise around 2am, so a different bunch was probably rolling into the pool area after it was supposed to be closed to guests.

I was not there to see who did what but the end result was the pool furniture in the pool along with the broken glass table tops and broken glass bottles and glass cups in both the pool and the spa pool. Some were booze got introduced into it. Earlier in the evening the pool area was a popular watering hole for all of us. Some ether can't handle their drink and / or have no respect of the property of others. I understand that the majority of the over 30 peeps had already retired before the debacle got started.
