Driver seat won't go up all the way

Hey everybody,

Almost at the end of my first week with my "new" 04 6spd RX-8 GT.

Obviously love the car. Drives like a dream (knock on wood)

I searched the threads and was unable to find something similar to what I'm experiencing...

Anyway... I'm not that short of a guy (5'7) and I find the clutch is about an inch away from a comfortable distance...

My suspicion is that maybe something is blocking the track? (The passenger seat pulls up further than the driver's seat)

Any ideas on how to remedy this would be great! Thanks in advance.

Look in the track and see if it's being blocked?

Not to burst the ole bubble but FYI...................5'7" is pretty short for a dude!

Also, try the tilt and raise the seat up, not forward..............that may allow it to then go further forward.

Check to make sure the connectors under the seat(in the rear) aren't keeping it from moving all the way do to the wires being to taught?

ya its down all the way. the passenger seat can go up so far it almost touches the glovebox.

when the driver seat is as far up as it "can go" i still see track that should allow it to go further up... but the motor just stops.

Check the track.

It could be a penny or it could be an ear ring, crayon, all sorts of tings, even a paper clip stuck vertically.

Flas light time. Magnet cable time.

An update if anyone cares... took the car to the dealership. They said the problem is with the track and it would cost ~$3400 to fix... so for now I'm just going to live with it.

ahahahha 3400.. STEALERSHIP... Dealers gone mad I tell ya. Makes me sad too cause no reason for a better fair relationships $$$ with dealer shops. Man pull the seat out and take a look yourself. The service manuals are online and only takes a few mins, unbolt, disconnect harness(s) and remove. Set it upsidedown on something soft like blanket. Use LED flashlight to inspect. Clean vehicle carpet. Re-install seat.
