Thoughts on winter time..

Tried doing a search but I couldn't find a search that would give me the results I was looking for (if there are any). But my question is, what are the chances that I would be able to throw some winter tires on my stock 18s, and use the money that i would buy winter tires and rims to get maybe a set of 19s to run outside of winter? I am thinking that this wouldn't make sense whatsoever, but maybe someone has done this and had good luck?

18s are inferior and more expensive than 17s when it comes to winter tires. 19s vs 18s for the dry is often taste, 19s are slightly better for smooth high speed cruising, 18s better for handling, acceleration, and braking (almost all due to weight, though sidewall plays a bit in handling)

You can usually find a set of 17s, and put winter tires on them, for about the cost of winter tires on the 18s. Mazda6 forums are great places usually, as their stock wheels are perfect for it, and look similar to our stock so you don't lose much.

Currently selling a near perfect set of Bridgestone snow tires on rims for $500 but will sell the tires alone for $400 and I am right here in CT. https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-parts-sale-wanted-44/winter-tires-rims-201967/
