I suggest going through Black Halo Racing (www.blackhaloracing.com) for the midpipe, and Mazda Maniac for the Cobb (www.MazdaManiac.com)
The midpipe they offer sounds awesome with pretty much any cat-back, and it is completely bolt-on. If you order the Cobb from MazdaManiac you can get his tunes preloaded on the device.

thanks, but thats more than im looking to spend on the midpipe. mm seems to only be selling the tune, not the unit. im looking to pick these up used, hoping to spend $600 or so on the pair
good luck man but a Cobb AP is gonna bring you a price now that you cant get them anymore
you'll be lucky if you can find one under $250 and it isnt worth having if you dont get it tuned by MM
as for the MP the only ones worth having are Corksport, RB, or Mazport if u want it quiet and none of those are exactly cheap
after months of trolling the FS forum i finally broke down and bought both new

yea Cobb doesnt sell APs for the 8 anymore
i think MM may have a few stockpiled up but im not sure
now that you cant get them anymore people will be asking and arm and a leg for theirs
demand going up + supply going down = high $$$
and like i said its not worth having if you dont get it tuned so you might as well get it for him and get the discount
