sequential shifter? pluses and minuses...

First of all is anyone aware if the ikeya sequential shifter works on the new transmission? (kind of guessing not)
Second does anyone here have any experience with em? I understand they are reasonably streetable but I wonder if they cause excessive synchro wear? (due to the quicker shifting?)
I know this is kind of zany but I am still quite interested in your thoughts... I understand that these shifters can improve your 0-60 by quite a bit!!

Yes I realize you have to use the clutch... upon researching this more that seems to be the dominant question concerning them. I am more curious about whether they work decently when mated to a stock tranny as opposed to a dog box and straight cut gears... and how they affect the longevity of the engine.

Crap could have sworn I found one last night but on searching today I can't find one...
Second thought from what I hear the transmission in the rx-8 is now a modified version of the miata's tranny so would a miata sequential work? (guessing not but you never know)
There's gotta be a racer out there somewhere who has tried this.

it's a waste of money for a street car. It's a project that's going to cost you at least 10.000$ and make the car a pain when street driving.

from what I understand they run around $1000 to $1500... I could see the 10K if i went for dogbox and straight cut gears but Im just musing about mating a stock tranny to the bold on sequential shifter. Now as for making it a pain to drive on the street I have no idea... I had heard they were reasonably streetable but I haven't heard that from a creditable source.
NE ways if there isn't one that will work for the rx-8 then it's moot.

The ikeya is not a true sequential and is not made for our cars.
A true cheap sequential costs what I told you
