so i bought a xcar link ipod adapter for my car. after connecting it my radio was not working. My HUD is RED, my radio doesnt turn on, and my ac doesn't work. I took it to mazda and they say that i need a new hud and radio face plate. I heard had there was a sequence and a code that has to be put on the radio to reset it. is this true. does anyone know?

 

I dont know about a sequence code but i do know that if you press on the half moon shape under the cd in part and your screen may start to change and it may allow you to use your buttons. Mine does the same thing doesnt work sometimes so i pres on the half moon and i lift u from the bottom of the unit a bit right under the cigarette lighter thingy and then it works Al showed me that there are some contacts that must be made in order for it to work.

 

I would remove the ipod adapter and see if the HU works.
When I installed mine, there were a couple buttons that didn't work.
After process of elimination, I found that the small board that connects to the underside of the HU wasn't seated fully and was leaning back.
Once that was seated correctly everything worked.

 

I've tried everything. With and without. Nothing works. I guess I just have to by an aftermarket radio. Double din. Here I go.
