Question fuel pump issues

On my last post i mentioned that the blue beauty had had to be towed due to failure of its fuel pump, at less than 47K miles. Has anyone else has problems in this department, or is this a fluke? Thankfully it didn't go in the middle of traffic! One thing we found out, it's not a cheap repair, but is well worth it.

The fuel pumps are known to be marginal at best...and they fail early compared to most other vehicles....

And that's being kind

In less than 50K miles, I had my fuel pump assy. replaced twice. While the second one was failing, I installed the BHR replacement pump. I have only had it in the car for 4 months now and haven't taken it to the track yet. Others say it's great.

Mine went out around 63k miles. Even though I was out of warranty I called Mazda and they supplied the part for free. Next time I have issues I'm buying the upgraded BHR pump.
