found this turbo manifold on google, just wondering if its any good. It kind of looks like a header manfiold, but if it is, then i can just make an 90 degree stainless adapter for a t3/t4. Just wondering if its quality.

That header they call an "rx8 Turbo manifold" is just a header. It is not designed for nor meant to be used in a turbo build. It is just a tubular replacement for the stock manifold. Where it exits would not get you any closer to having a turbo build than you are with the stock manifold. Why do they call it a "turbo manifold"? So suckers looking to slap together a "cheap turbo kit" will buy it and get stuck with it.

they are an ebay manufaturer. Some of their stuff is ok...some is garbage. It seems they make up jigs from a set of expensive headers and then try to copy it and sell it cheaper. The problem is they overlook some of the finer points when they make their version.
I ran a set of their headers on my vette. I basically volunteered myself on the corvette forums to try them out and write a review to see if maybe they really were a cheap alternative to the other options we had(all very expensive). I had to weld up some leaks and relocate tabs to make them mount properly. I wouldnt say they were terrible, but they certainly werent bolt on....

 

looks like fail to me.

 

Good luck making it work in the small space available. If you can more power to you. Me I just don't see it happening.

 

ugh.. even the pics that they use to "showcase" their manifold is fail. Check out the uneven yellowing of the weld.. never a good sign on stainless.

 

Yeah, looks like just a regular header in the pictures. Don't do ittttt!

 

Ssautochrome is ok if you don't mind uninstalling it and welding cracks up on a consistent basis. Maybe just get this one for no worries.

Ive looked at this one a few times and im actually quite upset that they would sell something like that for nearly 1500 dollars when its only 1/8th thick and its not the pretiest thing ive ever seen. Also as it says in the description, your oil metering pump has to be deleted.

So as for the original question of the ssatuo header, obviously it wont work. Although when searching for turbo manfolds, i noticed that greddys and another companies follow somewhat of the same design as the header but with the collecter aiming upwards to fit the turbo under the hood. I have a source that produces 3/16 thick steel tubing bends that maybe be tight enough to make a turbo manifold out of. I need a sizing tho, if im not being totally absurd i think 1 1/2 would be more than enough for the indavidual runners, then collect to a 2" main thick wall tube with a flange welded on the top for a t4. Does anyone have any idea where i can get a turbo flange for a t4 or do i have to machine one myself?

These guys using crappy stainless which isnt even up to US spec 304SS so you will experience cracking!Not even at the weld.Right in the middle of a tube!!!LOL.And then some of these Chinese companies actually mig weld the headers together,and then throw a TIG weld over them so they look like they have been Tigged.Good luck!

 

The tubes on my custom manifold are 0.035" and 0.048" thick depending on the area and has been issue free, but it is T321 material in an NA application expertly fit up and TIG purge welded with the proper wire. I would rather have used 0.026" inconel if it weren't for the cost.

thickness doesn't guarantee anything except it being heavy. Crap fabrication and materials will always still be crap regardless. Sometimes you do actually get what you pay for.

We used to keep split SSA Rx-7 manifolds are our shop to show customers that( split tubing). Can't say I have ever seen the Tig weld over a Mig though, that is a good one..
