Strange fluctuation @ idle?

so, randomly started to have a fluctuation in idle, its not always, its kinda random, it feels almost like how it feels when you get an intake, or leave the battery disconnected for a while, but it doesnt die, it just starts dropping to like 500 rpm then back to normal idle, its annoying as hell... again, not always, just sometimes, happens hot/cold/morning/night, doesnt matter. any ideas?

Does it happen with the A/C turned off? Could be its normal, but you're just now noticing it.

no, i never even use the a/c, its not normal, not at all, i'm aware of our wonderful little "blip blip" occasionally at idle, but not this. Hmmm, cleaning the mass are flow may be an idea... gotta look at that.

I see you have an 04. How many miles on the car? Also how many miles are on your sparks plugs and ignition coils?

If cleaning the MAF does not help, try resetting your ESS "Eccentric Shaft Sensor "

Turn the car to on but do not start
Pump the brake pedal 20 times in a 8 second period
If you did it right the oil pressure gauge will sweep

Chances are the fuel rail is to blame for this. The lack of a pulsation damper causes these oscillations inside the rail.

^this response is about as random as my fluctuation, "A" for effort though.

Car has 106xxx , engine replaced at 92k, coils and plugs are new as of last Thursday. I'm thinking about doing the reset for the ESS. Gonna try it tomorrow when i get to the shop, go from there i guess.
