Question OEM Side Flares and Front Air Dam Installation

Since its so freakin cold out and I really dont want to mess with it I think im gonna have the dealer or a body shop install the front air dam and side skirts....anyone had this done? How much did they charge? Wonder if it would be cheaper to just have a body shop install it rather than the mazda dealer....

My dealer charges/robs $72 an hour for the techs but their body shop is $44.

I don't blame you for not wanting to do it. It's damn cold out there.

Does anyone know how much time Mazda "claims" it will take to install these?

Got my front air damn put on by "Waxwerks" in Indinapolis today... Charged me $85. Thought that included the side skirts, but they accidently left them in the trunk. So I walk back in and said they forgot to put the side skirts on and the guy looked at me like I was crazy... Said come back in an hour and they would be done. Came back in 3 hours and my car still wasnt touched... So I said, nevermind, but they said "your next on the rack dude".. Ok... I let them... obviously they knew I was pissed.... So I go outside and watch them put on the side skirts, and these dumbasses were putting them on the FRONT side of the car... I knock on the window and tell them this and they look at me like IM the stupid one..... So I go in and tell the dumb *** redneck at the counter, who up until this point was really cool... and he said... "My people are professionals and they know what they are doing"... To which I said.. well your professionals are about to drill holes in my car in the wrong spot.... He got all shitty with me, and to make a long story short I told him to put the kit in the box and I will get it done somewhere else.... So, if your in Indy...DO NOT go to Waxwerks for ANYTHING!

I would rather pay the extra few bucks and have Mazda do it. Atleast it will most likley be done right.

flyboyindy,

Never worked with them, but often wondered. I assume that's the place up in Castelton? Sounds like they were swamped and just missed the side skirts. But not listening you on their installation was inexcusable. Sorry you had such a bad experience.

If you want to put them on yourself, let me know I'll lend a hand ... and a heated garage.

Frank,

Hubler Dodge??? You do realize that Mazda isn't a DC company right? Glad you found a solution! Thought i might have seen you car at "Worst Buy" today in Castleton. Took the time to drive though the lot to se if it was you. But no front spoiler. So I assumed not!
