Yeah, I had the same issue when I got mine, hell I even tried the line "Its a four door, 1.3L Mazda! Its practically a family car!"

They didn't buy it

LOL... thats sucks here in canada its also a 4 door the price diference between the rx8 and the 350z for me was 80 month , and they both compete with each other.. did u tell her that civics have more tourque ? :P

I'm 20 and pay $214 for liabilty only on a 96 toyota corrolla.
Full coverage on a brand new 2010 rx8 would be $259.

Yeah, I have, insurance (especially premium) over here is a monumental price...so dont worry, i have managed to find an insurance agency to take it for me...at $950!! haha...its fine tho, because I had budgeted for this car - so its nothing I didnt already see coming...However I wish we had the laws over here as you guys do in Canada... Oh well, Ill have pic's up of my new baby shortly!

I would be interested in who other rx8 people have their car with...Because I would rather put it through Shannon's...They are the car specialty insurance agency here....letting you take the car to wherever you want.

Not really ridiculous, some Insurance Companies wont insure any fast cars with drivers/owners under the age of 25.
In Australia those under 25 are more likely to have an accident and or cause death than at any other age, except over 85 years of age..I am sure it is similar in the USA/UK...

 

Umm...My Australian Insurance Company considers my 8 as a 4 Door ...which it is...a Saloon???...it is a 4 door Coupe...backward!

Cost me $800 a year with a 4 year new replacement .

 

I was under 25 when I got my 8. You'll have to go with Justcar...

 

yeah you can't complain. I pay 214 every month. 1284 every 6 months . For liabilty only.

 

ha im in the uk and i pay £951 a year fully comp and im 22 years old with like 3 years no clames crzy the range in prices from 1 place to the next and its the 231bhp model

 

I'm 42 - Work for the insurance company - Quoted NZ$600 with an excess of $2500 for theft and Malicous damage .....I went to the oppostion - Standard excess & same premium - Go Figure !

 

I am using pay as you go from Real insurance.
$600 for a year with 10Km allowed mileage per year.
I normally only drive about 7 or 8K per year.

 

I'm with Racv, And Im 24, costs me around $1300 Per year.

 

Yeah, Im on bingle.com now. its $940 because I live in the country...but its a huge amount....but anything to make sure my baby is looked after!
