is there a need for stainless brake lines or just stick with the stock rubber.

 

We have found the combination of braided lines and the carbon fibre pads to give us an impressive gain..estimated to be 20-30%
In my 2nd gen RX7, i found the braided lines to remove all chances of brake fade under heavy braking on the track or the street.
Plus the strength of your stops are improved because all expansion has been removed.

 

You might be interested to know that the four RX-8s that just completed the Trans Am Daytona 250 Race all use the brakes that came with the car even though these cars have been otherwise heavily modified.
One of the best features of the 8 are its brakes. IMHO.

 

I'll buy the claim that the braided lines improve the modulation and feel under hard braking - I'm not sure what you mean by "strength", though. Could you please explain how the brake lines have ANY affect on fade? To my knowledge, that's a function of pads and calipers and heat management. Fade is caused by brake fluid boiling in the calipers, or by pad compound degradation - the brake lines are completely out of the picture.

sorry forgot to mention we also installed feroto brake fluid. to lower the boiling point.

 

sorry but...wouldn't you want to RAISE the boiling point?

 

In my knowledge and my understanding .When a brake fluid boils it creates bubbles in the lines and causes moisture in the system.Everyone in the industry wants to have the highest boling point ..thus decreasing the risk of these conditions.
But hey i'm not a fluid expert:-)
