Check the connections to the battery and verify they didn't come loose.
Its been known to happen.

Well.............you better figure out what is killing both of them, or it's just going to happen again!
I was on the original battery for over five years and just changed it out even though I didn't have to. And.............my alternator is original and fine.
You have an aftermarket stereo or any aftermarket electronics?

I say it's your alternator and I wouldn't drive it much at all especially with anything but the ignition on. Check the battery connections as they all say and then the voltage as it's running should be about 14v not 12v.

i've recently started to have the same problem...goes on and off depending on whether or not i'm hitting the gas,
(but it's strange that it started happening soon after i started putting in 89 instead of 93 to test if there was a noticeable change in anything).

i read in an older thread that if it shuts off on the highway for example, everything goes off ...ie the power steering, so be careful.
