Hi guys,

so I've hit many road blocks since my 20b got under way for the 2nd time. most of the problems I'm having is really due to missing all necessary OEM components that make the car run, and not knowing what is missing until I get there or until I face some major problems...

My current question is regarding the 3 ports on top of the fuel tank. They're orange. One is thick & two are thinner. They look like they'll connect to fuel filler neck, carbon canister, & evaporator.

My carbon canister & evaporator are gone.

so... my questions:
1. Can I block 2 ports & just connect one of them to the fuel filler neck?
2. are any of these vent valves for the fuel vapor pressure in the gas tank?
3. why is the huge O-ring (one on each side) that go between the fuel tank & fuel pump canister little bigger than the plastic groove they should sit on? They don't seem to be sealing properly.

after this, I'm off to mounting fuel pumps, then rails. I expect to hit every road block in the world.

 

i should be able to answer this because i was just reading this part of the emissions chapter of the FSM last night(why i dont know? lol) but i feel kinda perma-fried right now.

i can tell you as far as tank pressure, the fuel cap consists of a positive pressure valve and a negative pressure valve - if that helps.

if i remember anything else i'll let you know

fwiw, although i cant currently get on here an awful lot, i have all the service/technical manuals at my fingertips and can put up anything you might need.
