Importing Rx8 from singapore

Hi guys,

I am from singapore and i will be relocating to melbourne. Thinking of shipping my car over.

My car is a 2005 4AT. Veilside bodykit, endless brakes, unichip, good audio system, Fujitsubo exhaust.

1)How much would it costs now in melbourne to purchase a 05 AT?
2)How much would it cost me to import it in?
3)Any good importers to recommend?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Under no circumstances should you import it.

Leave it there and buy a local car. They're dirt cheap here (secondhand, at least).

Really? The 6MTs are ~1.5-2x as expensive in QLD as they are back home in Canada (second hand). But I was only looking at the 06+

I've just given up trying to purchase cars now until I'm done with school. =(

Importing car that exists in Australia will cost you more, since you cannot import it as a low volume import. You have to do it privately, unless you have one next to nothing. It will cost more than buying it here.

Reviving old thread. I might be moving over to melbourne late 2015. Basically i do not get more than $5000 here in Singapore for my car. Thus i would like to send it over to Melb.

Any contacts to import it? How much the costs will be?

From memory, as long as you have owned the car for a year or more in the foreign country, you can do it.
Laws may have changed, so do your research, obviously.
