New rims, or Powedercoat?
New rims, or Powedercoat?
Yup, girlfriend fk'd my rims all up the other day. So now my rash is redicilous. So its either i get a new set of OEM's or pay 80 dollars a rim to get them powerder coated. what do you guys think is the better move?
I had curb rash on two rims repaired by Keystone over the winter and they came out great (far better then my initial amateurish attempt).
Unless you're really looking for a rim change then just have the stocks repaired. As cited above it's a good opportunity to go with a new finish and/or color.
Having said that, my stocks are going on my daughter's Mazda6 in a couple months and my new-to-me RP03's will go on my '8.

Around $200 a wheel if memory serves. Not cheap, but they came out like new condition and alot less expensive then OEM new wheels. This was the full reconditioning and not just a patch & paint job. I stayed with my Shinka color since just two, but I could have had another color for same price.
For me to powdercoat my rims its gonna cost me about 70 to 80 a wheel. I will prolly go that route if 200 is gonna be the cost for just one ya know. seems a little high really...
I had really significant curb damage to two wheels so that was a big part of it (last time I loan to a friend!). Plus everything costs more here.
Powdercoat is the way to go, provided the rash is repaired. If not it will really show up.
