Moonroof/Sunroof whatever :)

Okay, So I bought my 8 without a moonroof. i really am thinking about putting one in this spring, but in your guys non professional opinions, lol, is it worth it? i have never been in another 8 that had one, but it makes for a great drive. i just know that sometimes, they can cause WAY to much noise inside and are more of a headache than an enjoyable thing. what do you guys prefer?

A. You will not find anything that would fit in the curves of the roof.

B. You lose chassis rigidity since the trim of you 8 was not designed for a sunroof. You'll get cracking and creaking noises every time you turn!

C. It's a nightmare on the 8.

No because they were designed with the moonroof in mind. Certain parts of the frame was reinforced for the moonroof.

I love mine, but i could only imagine installing one that didnt come factory would be a nightmare and cost prohibitive, to get done right, just my two cents

The 8's that come with a sunroof have different roof sheet metal and structure than ones without. An aftermarket sunroof would compromise the structural integrity of what you currently have.

There was a thread here a couple of years ago started by a woman who bought an 8 with an aftermarked sunroof. I forget what caused her to become concerned, but she did. The dealer dug into it, including checking with Mazda USA about the structural part. They wound up taking the car back.

I use mine all the time, but I also hate it when track time comes around and I have to try to sit in the right position with a helmet >
