Rx8 only just running

My 2004 RX8 with 50,000 miles on the clock is running like a dog and the sensor on the front part of the exhaust is glowing red hot, any ideas?

Yup, your cat is blown. Get it to a dealer. It isn't healthy or wise to keep driving it that way. You are still under warranty on the cat, so it should be free.

I had the same problem. Brought it into the dealership and ended up getting a new engine out of the deal as well as a new cat. All under warranty.

So you took the cat off, and ran it without a cat/midpipe/etc? And it still runs the same as before?

Doesn't really mesh with the glowing cat description you gave above. The cat only glows like that from excessive heat buildup that can't go anywhere but through the sidewall of the cat, and you don't get that level of heat if the exhaust is free flowing.

Just take it in, unless you have mods done to it theres no reason to try to figure it out on your own.
