I am still hunting for this type of area in vegas myself, but what you should look for is a closed down business that has a big parking lot. I know in colorado where I just moved from there was a Target that had been closed for like 2 years and it was a pretty good spot for that type of thing.

I dont know how legal it is but I imagine even if a cop showed up he would be more lenient towards you based on the fact that your trying your best to stay away from any traffic and cars and not just doing it on the roads. Someone else might chime in and know of an actual place to go, GL.

I practice at failed housing developments with paved roads. For track practice...not drifting though. They are perfect for practice. My friends and I have lap records at each one.

check with your local sports car club. There are usually tons of track days and autox events that you can show up to practice at.

www.scca.com

Usually local porsche clubs and bmw clubs have scheduled events that anyone can attend for a fee.

We have a track day up here on 3/21 with the alfa club and then an autox event every 3 weeks or so all summer long.

Many SCCA regions just plain do drift events, you might find your local region and check their page.
