I've owned a Scanalyser for years now and it's one of the best purchases an RX-8 owner can make. (especially at this price!)

Can this version data log?

 

Yes - it runs his latest software. I made this chart with it. Posted in my vGarage.

No - that requires ProTuner

 

I'm shocked this isn't sold yet.
Everyone who owns an RX-8 and a computer (preferrably a laptop) who doesn't already own an AccessPORT should have one of these. especially at this price.

Hell, I have an AccessPORT AND one of these.

 

If I am not mistaken - the brick can be converted to the pro tuner - just ahve to give Hymee a few bucks for the software.

But I could be wrong about the older ones.

 

Ug, this is tempting after not being able to get the CANScan Scanalyzer working.

I can probably sneak it past my wife...but since I just bitched her out for dumping $2,600 in 2 months with nothing to show for it....feels too dishonest.

Sigh. Decisions decisions.

 

I upgraded to the USB version in order to get the ProTuner.
Might be possible to do it with the brick as well but not sure.

That reminds me: I actually own TWO of these things, that's how awesome Hymee's stuff is.

Yeah, see, I want the full ProTuner, so part of me feels like I would just be jacking up the final purchase price of everything...

 

No if the hardware is bought "used" then you don't have to pay retail for that - just the VIN token for the Pro Tuner.

Email Hymee and ask him if the older version will work like that.

 

Won't work..totally different hardware They are good scanners though..I have never had a problem with mine

The USB adapters on the other hand are a PIA...so getting one that works with the scanner is a big bonus

I had an older laptop with a serial port, so it worked fine. The gender changer can be finicky like Dan mentioned, that is why it is free
