Yet another "Soon to be RX-8 owner"

Hey everyone, im currently saving up to get a new RX-8...2010 RX-8 GT to be exact

But, i have a few questions on the car. And was hoping i could get them answered.

1. What is the best brand of oil to use in the car?

2. Has anyone used the Racing Beat Revi Intake in an automatic RX8, and if so, did everything work out ok?

3. Will a red top/yellow top Optima battery fit in the spot where the stock battery sits?

Any oil is fine, most people use Castrol
No Pro BLem O
Why? It's a new car. Aftermarket Boom Box then go ahead and replace it.

If you change your oil every 3K miles or so, I'm of the belief that any major brand is fine. Synthetic is a bit trickier, but won't go there. You should read the oil thread in the tech section.

Start talking about oil and all hell breaks loose. Search.

Why change the battery if its new unless you're really going to be stressing it due to freezing temperatures or something that's going to drain it....

Another noob here on the fence...

Are MY2009/2010 less prone to engine flooding (provided you do the warm up drill religiously) or they are about the same in terms of reliability as other previous MY RX8s?

Thanks!

Before you go ahead and buy that automatic RX8, won't you at least consider learning how to drive stick? You'll be much, much happier if you do.... it's hard at first, but it's so worth it.

Driving stick, one gets used to it. Once you drive stick, you wont go back to auto. I even had the wife learn when we were dating at first. Now she drives Manual only and preferes it.
