Hello RX8 community, I just purchased a 2004 silver rx8 in Tallahassee FL. I'll be flying in from MI on 1/22/2010 to drive the car back. The problem is the power steering is out. Dealer diagnosed as bad module. I've read many threads identifying the cause and read the diy by Mazda Maniac. I'm asking any one in the Tallahassee area or any one in route back north willing to give me a hand at cleaning or soldering the connectors.
It's hard trying to visualize what needs to be done without having the car in front of me. Mazda Maniac's diy was very informative but I'm not sure how or where he retrieved the sub harness. I know I'm asking a lot being a new member but if anyone could help a new RX8 owner out, that would be great.

The car was purchased off ebay so I'd feel more comfortable paying in person than risking sending money electronically and getting shipped.

 

Can someone please post a pic as to where the connector is that needs cleaning? I've read on top of radiator overflow and under air cleaner?

-what tools and size will I need?
-will I need to reset the system by doing the wheel turn method afterwords?
-if so what size wrench for battery?

I can only bring a limited amount of tools on the flight.

Please, any help is appreciated. I'm trying to avoid having the car shipped and risking spark plug fouling by the shipper.
