Hey, so i recently put in an RP midpipe on my rx8, and unfortunately i stripped the hell out of the oem o2 sensor... Regardless we threw it on the RP midpipe and it fell out on a drive somewhere. Up to this point the check engine light was not going on, until it fell off. So i just put in a new OEM o2 sensor, but the check engine light is still on. Is there something i need to reset?

 

Cat less mid pipe? If it is then you wasted money on a new rear O2 because you will get a CEL regardless unless you have a COBB AP. If you do have a cat there are numerous threads on resetting the ECU.

 

It's catless, and I assumed that the check engine light would turn on, but i drove it for 2 or 3 days without the check engine light coming on - before the sensor came off, and only after the sensor came off did the check engine light come back on.

 

If i brought it to a shop would they be able to reset the computer so that it'd stop showing the check engine light?
