Painting brake calipers

Ok, I admit I am a novice at painting and pretty clueless, but I've been trying to do some research.

I do not feeling like removing the calipers to paint, and have decided to just remove the wheels. I think I'll use the G2 paint kit, but is there anything else I should know? This will be my first time painting anything on my car.

Do you just clean the brakes and apply the paint? I understand some people were talking about sanding first...

Also, is a clear coat necessary? I know it has to be heat resistant, and some people said they didnt use one, but what would be the benefits of applying 2 layers of this clear coat.

Thanks for the help, and if you have any other tips please let me know.

I used some sponge brushes and some spray paint to do mine. spray the spray paint on the brushes then apply you need a couple I'd say a brush per caliper they tend to break apart.

I used G2, it handles the heat well but not stones, it will chip over time. No need to sand but due clean it well and mask the parts you do not want painted. I also would do two coats. I took off all the wheels and placed the car on stands. There is enough paint in the G2 kit to do two coats. Once you finish the 4th one the 1st one will be ready for a 2nd coat. THIS is about the best pic of mine i can find.
