I bring you, the nsx replacment . (JGTC Edition)

If you have been follwing JGTC, you will know that Honda has been asking the Series to allow them to race their NON production car in the series. Since the series consist of production cars only, JGTC decided to allow honda to race their new car, even though honda does not a production NSX . I would post the link, but i dont think it will help, since its in japanese.

I'm finally gonna ask, why is there such a hype regarding a replacement for the nsx?

They stopped making it for a reason, the sales were terrible.

And the biggest upside to the old nsx's was a supercar you can drive daily.
None of these replacement look like daily drivers to me...

Stick with Ferraris if you have that amount of money and don't care for practicality.
Buy a used NSX if you want a comfortable supercar.

I guess its because you dotn follow JGTC. NSX won more championships then Nissan and pretty much tie with TOyota.

Personally i never liked the NSX, but i do feel that its time for Honda to put in a new car. As for me, i am a toyota fan when it comes to JGTC, so seeing the SC is a plus, but seeing a LFA would be even better.

As for sales, the same can be said about RX7, yah the US the sales where horriable, but NSX sold pretty well in japan. I see so many pimped out nsx when i go home to visit every year. just because you dont see many here in the US, doesnt mean its the same in japan.

Did the NSX cost as much in Japan as it did in the U.S.?
If so, they really like their NSX then, not the best bang for the bucks in my opinion.

pretty much same the price as a R33-R34 (maybe little bit higher). But not the same price as the Higher priced US version.

But hey , honda fans (JPN) been crying over a New nsx for the series for years now.

Same price range as the R34?

Boy, glad I don't live in Japan, I would've driven myself crazy deciding between the two...

Then again, it'd be nice if I can have the same dilemma in the U.S.

How much did they have to pay to have a prototype racing with "production" cars? I mean, in the end they are all racing prototypes there since there's not much left of the original car but they are all based on production cars...
Sounds strange!

Love the look too, but remember the JGTC variants of the streets cars they are homoligated off, are very distorted in their proportions. So the front may have simular features but I wouldnt expect such a low frontal cross section...

Autoblog claimed that they weren't actually producing it. They found a loophole in the rules that states since it was dubbed the nsx, and used to be a production car, that they could race it. I could be wrong but i was fairly certain that it would not be mass produced, strictly used for racing.

From Hemmings Sports & Exotic Re: Acura/Honda NSX 1990/1991 "The performance is within tenths of a second of the Lamborghini Countach....." "and for around $40,000 less" pretty good 'bang for the buck' i'd say.

Right, but for 40 grand more I can have a Lamborghini Countach instead of an Acura NSX...

I think it looks spectacular!
And wow, over here in Canada a brand new NSX used to be like 130k for an Acura.
In the US I think it was around 100k?

And all the headaches that go along with it! You must remember, it's not just $40,000, it was $60,000 vs, $100,000. That is almost twice the cost. Then figure in the maintance, etc. and the fact that you didn't have to worry what was going to break next. You had an exotic that you could use every day. That, is bang for the buck.
