yup, that's hot. It's like you weren't satisfied with having the best sounding 8 ever, nor with most of a MS kit. Oh no, you then went and got the best looking seats too.

Good stuff

Looks great man, How much do they weigh? Seat's alone, and Seat's + Bracket if you know both of the weight's.

Thanks!

That brackets wont be super light because I made them out of 3/16 steel.

the seats were supposedly 14.5 lbs and i would guess that the brackets are about the same. Probably around 30 lbs for everything (each seat) but i dont really know.

I could justify it because i couldn't finish a track session without my back giving out on me. Fighting G's with your head cocked in the sunroof is not an easy thing to do for extended periods of time.

This did end up costing me more than i thought it was going to but i had very specific reasons for everything i wanted
  • I wanted a pair of seats (not just one like a lot of people do)
  • I wanted something in red leather (Leather for durability and red because it's my favorite interior color -- for sports cars at least)
  • I needed a tall seat so i could get a harness over my shoulders (i'm 6'4")
  • The stock seats are some of the best looking stock seats i've seen so i didn't want to get something that looked worse
  • I wanted to use them as a daily driver and on the track (no swapping)

As you can see, finding a seat that was the right size that was available in the materials i wanted that was a step up from the stock seats was pretty limited.

I didn't necessarily want carbon fiber seats i just got lucky and ended up with them. Vivid Racing had a special for a few days that i caught the tail end of. I had worked a deal on the same seats in FRP for $2050 shipped but the deal was that i could upgrade to carbon for $175 per seat(normally a $700+ upgrade per seat). I knew i would kick myself if i didn't do it so i splurged and got the carbon seats for $2400 shipped to my door.

I'm very happy so far.. I have a little tweaking to do with the driver's side positioning but it's pretty close to an ideal driving position.

Thanks for the comments guys!

Ring GT in leather. Standard Ring fits a 32" waist Ring GT fits a 34" waist. I wear a 34" waist pant and it's a tight squeeze.

Looks great man, and the weight isn't that bad at all either! Just curious though, what did you do about the airbag sensor? And is there an airbag warning on your dash now..? Just curious for when I get my own seats at some point. Was looking at the Recaro Pole Position.

I haven't done anything with the airbag sensor. That seems to be the million dollar question.

It just flashes at me -- I glare back. We keep our distance.

Any thoughts about Corbeau seats? Obviously they're not nearly as nice as Stätus but the price is right for me at least.

Angrybumblebee has Corbeau seats in his car. You should go with a sparco, best bang for the buck.

Speedware in Redmond wants $50 for a resistor you could install to fake the sensor. I suspect, since $50 is ridiculous, you could pick up 2 for <$10.
