question about aftermarket lug nuts

I'm about to purchase some aftermarket lug nuts, no plans on tracking the 8, but there will be alot of visits to the local mountains, aka spirited driving

Anyone had experience with the Muteki lugs yet?

Anywho, my real question is about the open ended lug nuts. Since its opened, wouldn't the elements get to it? In other words, wouldn't the studs start to rust over? Would the extended nuts help at all, or are those just for the racing look?

i honestly don't think there's much difference in the majority of the lug nuts in the same price range as the muteki's. Some may argue back n' forth about them but IMO lug nuts are lug nuts.

in regards to the appearance, i have the muteki red open ended lug nuts and there is visible surface rust on the studs. Nothing too major unless you examine them specifically. The red gloss paint has for the most part faded now. I understand that the more 'high end' lugs don't have this problem. Hope this helps

Thanks for the input, I'll probably pick up a set of Muteki's open ended lugs. I guess I could always wd40 the rust off as it appears anyways. Now I just need to worry about what color to pick up lol.
