in the end thats $10 shipped less than current market prices. it offsets the $10 increase for 4 coils.

i bought my plugs last week at autopartsworld for 78 with free next day shipping, thats only 8 dollars more for next day if getting them quickly is important to you.

i had to call for the next day shipping though.

i could wait a few days and save $10.

its not like you randomly decide, "TODAY IS TEH DAY I DO MY SPARK PLUGS!" i would believe most people plan this a week in advance.

nice!

i guess its good to know we can expect it to be around $60ish for a replacement set...

now finding lowered prices on coils would be great.

Are you sure that is for all 4 coils you need. Not clear at all. You would hope it is because $88 for one is very expensive but product description is not clear. http://XXX.autozone.com/autozone/cat...&parentId=62-0

I have an email into autozone to check. Does anyone know for sure ?

No response to email so I called autozone customer service to ask if the part listed for $89 as ignition coil for RX8 was for 1 coil or set of 4 coils. They were a bit confused as I was from description and pricing but indicated it was for 1 only. So that is $89 per coil ... WOW !!!!

Part Number: C1459
Weight: 0.456 lbs
Notes: Main coil With distributor-less ignition
Quantity Per Car: 4
OEM Number: N3H1-18-100

Wanted to clear up the original post that stated the set of 4 at AUtozone was $90.

Yeah THIS IS WHY YOU NEVER WANT TO GO TO AUTOZONE FOR SPECIFIC CAR PARTS!!!!

As crazy as it is, at least the dealer has a fairly predictable (though high) markup of 30 or 40%. But 90 bucks a coil.....screw that...

80 bux ... for 1 coil ...

...

I shop @ Autozone a lot, so many times that ppl there know me. but I hardly buy parts there except for this one time I have to get a replacement cat for my FC. They have Magnaflow CAT for 87 bux. its about the same online, plus I have 20 bux in rewards card so I was like why not ?

other than that ... I am not gonna buy parts at autozone

Looks like Rock Auto is cheapest for coils at this point. under rx8 2004 parts list the coils are $28.79 each, no tax, and about $7 for shipping. The 2004 coils should work on 05 and 06 right ? Anybody find lower than that ?

Anyone use the Airtex yet? I need to replace the electrical components at 45K miles. RockAuto has the Airtex ($28) and Standard Motor Parts ($35) as well.

Search feature works. https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-tech-garage-22/ignition-coil-choices-airtex-187902/

If you notice the rockauto page has the airtex listed for 2004 version but not for 2005 not sure what the difference is really but since the oem part number is not used it is hard to tell why that is the case.

Why mess with questionable aftermarket versions. Behold, the cheapest OEM:

hmm, did my post got deleted or I never posted it ?

They do have a web site (Google is ur friend), and they actually sell OE pumps, hmm, wonder if its the same Arram unit.

anyway, for around the same price as OE, I would rather go OE instead.

Mazmart(Paul) always give us excellent price.

Happy new year

Put the Airtex in yesterday. Old plugs and wires left in. Huge difference. Idle misfire is gone, and teh revs are smooth all the way up whereas I had a couple of very minor hiccups in the revs prior to the change.

Which is coil #1, the one in the front or the back? The one closest to the firewall showed the most white on the old coils. The others looked OK.
