Long time admirer of the car - now just bought my first - a used 05 w/AT last week.
...actually convinced the wife it could be her car... little does she know...

First question - what is best place for service etc. of car. I'm in Plano - is there one dealer that is better than the others...actually bought the car at Town North Mazda in Richardson

Look forward to meeting up with others and seeing what "mods" everyone has done.

Any GTG's on the horizon?

I always get mine serviced at Town North Mazda, they have taken good care of me. I always talk to Mike or Victor at the service desk. What color did you get?

got the Whitewater Pearl w/ black interior. Looking at the website thought I saw somewhere that they only had that color for 2 years 05 and 06 - is that right?

1st - I have personally had GREAT experience with Town North Mazda for service. Talk with Penny Zhine, she is the best!!! (I dont care what anyone else says)

2nd - I will get a meet going soon in the next week or so if someone does not beat me to it

3rd - the Whitewater Pearl was a produced in 05 & 06 only. from 07 to present the white is Crystal White Pearl

Hey man im also in the Plano area (Murphy to be exact). What part in Plano are you in? O and for warranty work Town North has been amazing.

 

I'm just North of Parker off Independence.

Obvious concensus seems to be Town North for the servicing work...car had just over 26K on it so will be coming up for the 30K "check up" shortly. Wife took it in yesterday (fog lamps weren't working) - they replaced them but servicing tech mentioned some problems with the rear tires...will have to give them a call to see what they're talking about.

If you do decide to go on Thursday, let me know. I'm about 5 minutes north of you (Ohio and Spring Creek) and we can meet up and drive over there. When I'm in town, RowlettRX8er and I usually cruise over there together.

I will also jump on the Town North bandwagon. I've had nothing but great service from those guys. I've always worked with Victor, but they are all great. I just had them do my 30K service and they were great. Didn't try to sell me anything I didn't ask for.

Another fellow newbie here bought my rx-8 about a month ago
and just wanting to meet some of the local 8 owners,
oh and i played a little follow the leader with a fellow 8 last night (saturday) in plano, had an after market wing and an exhaust and that's all i could see lol
