Nah. I think they'd go with "Turbo II" just to make sure people dont confuse the different versions.

Sorta of a similar shape to the interesting Civic R hatchback that they don't bring over here. Too bad Honda doesn't.

Mazda officially announced 2 will debut in LA this December. Should be the 5DR hatchback and 4DR sedan. I wonder if the 3DR hatchback will make it over here. Hopefully, the three models will make it over here to match the Yaris in configuration breadth.

I know this topic has been beaten to death - I know why Americans love sedans, but subcompact sedans are so awkward and inefficient.

 

Interesting...if you guys are to get the 4 door Mazda 2 sedan, then this will be made at the brand new Auto Alliance plant of Mazda/Ford in Thailand.

Mazda don't make or sell the 4 door in Japan.

Mazda Australia has just announced that from next year the Mazda 2 will be made and imported from the new Thailand Plant, we will also be getting the 4 Door Sedan which has also been made in China about 6 months after the release of the Mazda 2 5 door hatch in 2008.

Part of the reason Mazda Australia are going to source the 2 from Thailand plant is because Australia has a free trade agreement with Thailand....more profit and cheaper Mazda 2's (don't know if the tariff savings will be passed on to the consumer though).

I also thought moving Asia's production to Thailand plant would free up capacity for the new USA LHD Mazda 2 3 and 5 door hatch at the Mazda Hiroshima plant.

I might be wrong if you guys are to get the 4 door sedan though, as it is not made in Japan.

Well we are getting the 5DR at least. I'm just guessing we'll get the sedan b/c Americans love trunks. Edmunds/Inside Line had these photos I didn't see elsewhere showing the smiley front end for US/Canada to match the rest of the line.

i think this and the fiesta are essentially the same car.

 

different engines and transmission.

mazda (i'm talk about 1.3 and MT) is way better than fiesta. more sporty.

i own a 2 and i've tested the fiesta.
