New Suspension + New Wheels

It's been a long time since I've posted, but I've got some money now which means changes toward the 8. I currently have my winters on, and my summer tires (KDW's) are shot, plus I'm getting really sick of the road noise on them, it's terrible.

So I have some money and I just found a set of Project Mu brake pads that I bought a while back, so when I put my summers on, I'm going to do a bit of a brakes/suspension/wheel/tire makeover. I am planning on getting braided brake lines, putting on the Project Mu pads, and getting some new wheels. This is where you all come in.

I am all about bang for your buck, so I am going to go for Tok D-specs w/ swift or tein s-tech springs OR just buy the Stance GR coilovers (I do plan on tracking/autoxing the car at some point). Question though, anyone try the new Buddy Club coilovers? The price seems really good, and I know they make GREAT stuff. I tried searching but couldn't really find much.

I have done my research and it seems those two suspension set-ups seem to be very popular and great performance/dollar set-ups. But now to wheels.

I would like to get 17's to save money and save weight, and I am torn between RPF1's and Buddy Club P1's. What tires size/offset can I get away with before I need to roll my fenders? I would like to go as wide as possible without a) looking silly and b) rolling fenders.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Stance is on Back order for a month or so, Great Coilover for the price!

Buddy Club does not have coilovers available yet, I was talking to them not to long ago about bringing some over so as of yet I think they have yet to do so.

Tokico D specs are popular choice for the price and a great shock.

Spring choice the swift are a nice choice but a bit pricey compared to the others.

S-techs are good but the sagging drop effect they have can be a bit much as a performance spring.

Progress Technology has a spring as well that is extremely affordable and has a very nice spring rate which is comparable to the S-techs.

Other popular choices to look at are the Tanabe GF210, H&R and Eibach Springs

As for wheel Choices 17 x 9 and +28 offset are very nice I run the Buddy Club QF on my car and love the setup

As you will see the RPF1s are discontinued so not sure how much more is left of them but the Buddy club wheels are also a cost effective choice as well.

255/40/17 Kumho XS great tire for Great Price

Everyone has their favorite tire so I am sure you will get some great feedback on what others run.

Wheels:

Enkei RPF1 17x10 +38 // $250 ea (17.0lbs)

If you're serious about getting into tracking, i highly suggest saving for coilovers. I hear Stance does make a good one for our car (the GR+) although I have no personal experience with them.

Tires: I highly reccomend the Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Specs (although the widest they come in 17" is 255/40). Also, the XS like Brice said is a good tire as well. You can fit some nice 275/40 on those 10" wheels (you might have to roll the rear fenders)

If your looking for more AutoX specific tires. Go with the Star Specs that Ross mentioned. If your looking for more Road Course specific tires(Harder Compound that won't chunk) go with the Nitto NT05's.

Thanks for all the feedback so far. I think I will save for the Stance's. An extra month will do my funds good. So it looks like 17X9 or 10 would be a good choice for either rim. I'll have to search around and see if people need to roll with 275's, especially with a drop from a coilover kit. Keep it coming though.

I'm on 18x9.5 +45 and 275/35/18 and don't need a roll no matter how low I go. But my 18x9 +35's do rub with 275's..Just to give you an idea of what will and what wont fit.
