AudioLink/XCarLink USB MP3 player freaks the TPMS out

After installing the AudioLink/XCarLink USB MP3 player, my TPMS begins to flash after 15 mins I drive the car.

At first I was not sure about the problem... my tire pressures are all good, then I though maybe it is just the weather (it is getting cold now), but then the TPMS just keep flashing everytime I drove for 15 mins or more. I took it the dealer and the dealer checked all sensor, cleared the code, and then finally concluded that the MP3 player maybe transmitting certain RF signal that freaks the MP3 player out. I am kind of convinced since it seems that things are all fine when I am not using the player or when I am using SD (instead of USB drive) with the MP3 player.

Did a quick search and found some similar complains. Guess it is NOT an isolated case, and the MP3 player is indeed driving the TPMS mad...lol. Wondering if there is any shield I can get to shield the RF signal from MP3 player to mess up with TPMS....

i know nothing of the product, and it may well have some interference issues

but it makes zero sense that USB use would have issues, and that SD card would not... most all SD readers present themselves as generic USB mass storage interface... which means it would look/behave/act exactly like a USB flash drive. In fact the only way they are different is in shape, and the method of communication between the SD card and its reader(but remember most all readers then behave/look/act like USB mass storage...)

i guess it must be some sort of interference. as to the USB/SD difference, I am not quite sure. All I can say is that I just switched from USB drive to SD, and have not seen the TPMS problem in the past 3 days, during which I have done quite some city/highway driving... With USB drive, I get the TPMS going crazy like 9 out of 10 times.

i remember reading somewhere on this forum that some folks are experiencing same problem and are gathering people with similar experience to build a stronger case when talking to the manufacturer. my problem is gone (at least for now) when using SD card, but if you are interested in a shield, you can do a search and find out if there is any update from those folks.

good luck.

as of right now its just wrapped around the xcarlink but in the near future i may make a small foil lined box to clean up the look a bit.

have you tried using SD card instead of USB drive. my problem has been gone after I switched to using SD card instead.

Guy, anyone know if the same problem exists with XCarLink ipod integration kit or is it just with the USB/SD card kit? I was thinking of buying one, so your input will be greatly appreciated.
