is the exhaust layout for the 08 the same as the 09 r3...i have APEXi exhaust i want to put on an r3

 

They make apexi exhaust for the rx8? since when, I want one for my '04

 

no, the layout is little bit different. Exhaust tip/exit doesn't match up. Also the centre pipe is also bit different I believe.

 

You are right and wrong. The tips lay lower on an 09 R3. everything else matches up. so, for example, if you wanted to put an R3 exhaust on an 04-08, all you have to do is remove the shrouds. If you wanted to put an 04-08 aftermarket on an R3, it will sit too high at the tips so it won't fit. I even have an R3 catback hanging in my garage.

 

If it would be too high, couldn't you just modify the exhaust hanger or swap out the rubbery bit to something that hangs a bit lower? Doesn't sound like it would be that much work...

 

so it should be easy to fit, it must be like an ich too high.....saws all time
