Oil Question

Before you read, this is NOT a stupid question!

Everytime I check my dipstick to see if I need to put more oil in, it is always showing that my Engine has enough oil in it.

But I know that you need to put more oil in every 2 or 3 fill-ups of the gas....why is it doing this?

Depending on how you drive the car, depends how much oil is burned. If you drive your car hard then you will need to add oil. If you drive like grandma it may take a while before you need to add oil. The rule of thumb is to check your every other fill up. On the dip stick between the top and bottom line is 1.8qts. And try to keep your oil level between the top dot and top line.

I don't drive my car HARD, but I do drive it everyday (I commute to college) and try to rev it high at least one-twice a day.
