Anyone ever tried tires at Costco?

I am thinking of getting a set of WINTER tires from Costco, mainly for its convenience: can shop while waiting and free lifetime rotation/alignment. I think they mainly carry BFGoodrich and Michelin.

Anyone ever had experience with Costco (winter) tires?

i have stock rims...but don't quite understand the logic here, if they are not nice to rims, why does it matter whether it is stock rim or aftermarket rim?

is it stock rims do not deserve to be treated nice or the costco guys just hate aftermarket rims? lol

aftermarket rims tend to cost a pretty penny. that, and usually stock rims are relegated to abuse-use (i.e. winter, track, etc) when you get aftermarket rims.

Over the years I have purchased several sets of tires from Costco for vehicles that range in price $1k - $45k and never had issues or noticed they were treated differently.

hmm...that makes sense. now back to the question... has anyone ever ACTUALLY used their WINTER tires? any good? how do they compare to popular winter tires on the forum (Blizzak, Dunlop M3 etc. etc.)

have you used winter tires from costco? if so, what tires did you get? the selection on costco website seem quite limited now (no winter tires at all) but then again, it is probably still far from winter now.

Winter tires doesnt really matter. Just look for the highest Threadwear number. thats all u need to know.

not like you will go fast (not suppose to go fast) on winter tires anyway.

i never got tires from Costco before. but I have a set of Potenza LM25. love it

I've purchased 10+ sets of tires from Costco and I probably will never buy from them again.
when I first started buying from them it was because their prices were great, they always caried Michelin tires, and I could have it done while I was shopping.
Unfortunately every Costo I go to these days is no longer all that competitive with their tire prices and even if I'm the first person in the door, I get a 2 hour wait for tires.

The final straw for me was having them break two sets of wheel locks on two different cars and me having to replace the wheel because of the damage caused in removing the broken lock. (at Costco's expense of course)

I find that America's Tire company is just MUCH easier to deal with. They'll match or beat any of Costco's prices, I feel the techs are more compotent, and I'm out of there in under 30 minutes. What's there not to love.

no America's Tire in my state (or in neighboring states if that matters...) the costcos I have been to before seem quite competent on my previous cars though. i don't think there is anything special about 8's wheel locks...yes?

Mazda wheel locks are VERY soft.
When you go in there just instruct them to hand tighten the locks. If they use the air gun, bad things can happen.
