Dream Project Car

What is your dream project car? No, I'm not talking about something you can walk into the dealership and buy...I'm talking something you want to build from the ground up for yourself.

Here's mine: http://www.factoryfive.com/gtmhome.html

Factory Five GTM

Ferrari killer for $60,000? I'm in!

Designed to use the LS series motor...thinking about modifying it to run a 20B (or even a R26B...but I doubt if I will ever be able to afford that!)

Right when you you asked the question the first thing that came to mind was the factory five gtm but you beat me to it lol but yes the factory five would be my choice also, designed for the ls engines and the porsche 5 speed gearbox...hell of a car to build...but though it would only take around 40k to build?

Bare bones, yes. But I plan on using a 20B (if I can) or an LS7....I added up around $60,000, possibly more once it's all said and done.

Taking My RX8 building a wide body completely out of carbon fiber painted winning blue.. overhauling everything from the carbon fiber tires and well tuned suspension to the radiator, cold air intake etc. tuning up a 4 rotor preferably a r26b set up for time attack. multi turbo'd. replacing as much of the interior as possible with carbon fiber parts. and crome plated replacing the silverplastic parts. installing the transmission used in the rx8's in the rolex series. a lot more would have to be done just to deal with the extra heat and the extra power. that's my dream car, and if I can keep the weight down while keeping the stock form and look aside from the wide body and rough carbon interior. and some how keep the perfect 50/50 weight distribution. I would be the happiest Man on Earth.

Lotus Elise with a Renesis.

Someone has already accomplished my dream car on this forum.

Dethwalkin already put together a 13B REW swap. I would go in a different direction of exterior appearance but the engine build is identical to what i would want.

also...i would love to build a beastly R33

I think Angeljoeliv's sleeper Toyota is one of the coolest cars I've seen. It would be hilarious to roll around in that beast.

My dream project car would be a Veyron and the project would be chasing supermodel tail :D

In the near future, FD3S

In the distant future, Caterham 7 Superlight

I've also thrown around these ideas:

Triumph TR4 or TR6
1985 BMW 325is
Porsche 914

I'd love a RX2 or 4, with a 20b swapped into it. Among the many other cars I want. Also would love a 98 Subaru with a version 8 STi engine and drive train swapped into it.

I plan to do this soon enough but a full track FD. Itll be a long term build. Stripped down, big brakes, suspension, full cage, fuel cell, built in air jacks, re amemiya wide body, and as much carbon fiber as possible. kicker is itll be powered by an LS1 engine and then a turbo for good measure. Think SCCA Unlimited class. Thats my realistic dream. Ill be starting not too far in the future but probably wont finish for years. Its more for fun, tinkering, and the wrench time then for getting it done quick.

My pipe dream would be to make some kind of f1 or lmp1 car. I would like to incorporate as many banned f1 technologies as possible. active aero, active suspension, computer comtrolled/active aids, ground effects, turbos, maybe even twin chassis. basically the ultimate race car. inspiration came from f1, lmp1 and can-am
