I searched and could not find

So I have the original summer tires on my 8 and they are all at less than 25% life. (one is almost bald due to a bad alignment). But anyway, I'm heading to college and need a set of tires. I'm looking into all-seasons(i know, get a set of winter tires, yeah i know). I may end up selling the 8 next summer. So I am looking for a set of tires to get me through the school year and into the summer.


Any recommendations?


I have used tirerack and found 3 tires I think pretty good because of the rating system. All above 8's.


This are to fit the OEM wheel with 225/45-18 size

any input would be good. I just want tires for a daily driver without losing too much performance.

 

I have used 2 different sets of All-Season tires on my car. The Continental ContiExtremeContact and Pirelli PZero Nero M&S. The Pirelli's were first and they make a good 3 season tire. They weren't as good in the snow as I would have liked. I never got stuck with them, however. They Conti's, which I have now, are great snow tires. The don't corner like a summer tire would in the dry.
All-Season tires are a compromise tire. You can't have everything.

 

I have the Goodyear Eagle F1 All-Seasons on my OEM wheels and will be putting them back on come late September or October. I have logged about 12k miles on them and I've always been very happy with them. Quite frankly, I am surprised reading some of the bad reviews of them on Tire Rack. People saying they're only getting 12-18k miles from them and such. I've got at least 2/3 tread left on mine after 12k. I don't really push my car very much thought either.

Of course, this is only my experience with them, but I was really very pleased with them. And they look great too.

 

i just bought a set of the contiextremecontact's and i like them. i mainly chose them because out of all reviews on tirerack they had the best for snow and ice grip. plus theyre not as expensive as the first ranking A/S tire but their performance is just as good. and as someone said before, the dry pavement grip isnt the best but its good.

like alnielsen said, A/S's are a compromise. i bought them for my stock 18's cause i dont want to ride on my rpf1's with star specs in the winter and other harsh seasons.

p.s. im not sure if the offer is still on but if you buy continentals and your tire price is over $400 you get a free gps. lol may not be the best gps but if you dont have one then its great or it can be a nice gift. lol

 

I've used toyo proxes 4 and they were great in dry traction, wet traction, and I was even able to drive them in snow with little problems. The best part, however, is the life of the tread is the best I have gotten on any tire.
